Default [Updated] Truly baffling Boxee issue with certain NFO files...

I solved the issues that prompted me to start an earlier thread, but this is an issue I wanted to ask around about because it was very strange.

I discovered over the course of my titanic struggle with the BB trying to get it to add all of my TV Series properly, that the BB was getting stuck identifying certain files (stuck like pegged 100% CPU usage and no further progress identifying/adding files to library even after days) and I traced the issue back to BB choking on some of the TBN files. Once I manually deleted and re-created the TBN files for those episodes, BB added them no problem.

Has anyone else had issues with this? Or did I just get *massively* unlucky here? I spent *days* pulling my hair out until I figured out that EMM-r generated thumbs on certain vids were the issue.[/I]

I've been using EMM v1.2.2415 for a year (for movies only) and I haven't had any issues with it at all - for the very few movies it's had an issue ID'ing, it was a simple matter of using the IMDB tag # - or if there wasn't any IMDB info available, I used EMM's manual creation options to make an NFO

Have you checked in EMM's Settings/TV Shows/Files and Sources to see if changing/adding any of the .tbn options help

I haven't had a chance to try and re-create the problems, sometime next week I'll try and see if I can get EMM to produce the problem on cue.

You can't imagine how frustrating it was trying to figure out what was causing this problem. I was just about ready to give up on the Boxee Box in disgust after only having had it for a week until I figured out that BB does really strange things when it cannot read a TBN file properly.

As I mentioned, EMM has been pretty much issue free for me, but, I use it only for a sizable 'movie' library -- I do see a fair amount of issues mentioned here on the forum with TV Show libraries

Keep us informed with your findings when you get a chance
