Default Using Dish Network with Live TV

    Hey guys,

Just picked up my live tv and it looses signal with the small antenna. I still have the original coax wires running from my tv to the roof and hooked up to a dish network dish on the roof that we no longer pay for. I tried hooking it up to my boxee to see if I would get any channels and nothing. Would I be able to replace the dish on the roof with an antenna to get better reception and would it work with the boxee. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Satellite receivers and equipment do not have support on live tv, just cable and an hd antenna. You could buy the HD antenna and keep it in the house. You can also check for local QAM hd channels using directories for QAM channels.

Can I use the coax cable from dish and replace the dish with an HDTV antenna on the roof to get a good signal? My tv is in the basement so I doubt I'll get anything good with and indoor antenna.

Yeah sure. You may have to put some cover on the antenna from weathering issues as it's originally an indoor antenna, but I don't see why it's not technically doable.
