Keep getting asked for Password but I don''t use one!

Hi Guys I just got a ATV 1st gen with Boxee\XBMC installed and ready to go. I can use Boxee to get on the internet etc. Before I continue I'll spec out my network layout,

BTHOME HUB (internet)
Goes into
PC
Plug Network adapter

Apple tv then is connected to the other plug network adapter and thus can use the internet and see my PC.

Upon attempting to stream content from the shared folders on my PC I enter network source and see.

BTHOME HUB (Samba)
"MYPCNAME" (Samba)
UPNP

If I select my "MYPCNAME" (Samba) which is shared I get prompted to enter a user name and password however I don't use a user name and password for ANYTHING on my network so I am not sure what it wants me to enter! I don't even use a user to log onto my PC at start-up.

If I use a UPNP server like PS3 media streamer the Boxee can see that to veiw individual files however it can't scrape from it using it as a source folder as it gets disconnected for some reason as soon as it tries to scan it.

Can someone please help!!!

You dont mention which OS your using, win 7, vista ???? This is a fairly common issue and has more to do with windows than boxee. Have you tried accessing the same folder from XBMC using zeroconfig browser protocol ? My suggestion is to

1. Check you actually dont have a password or a permissions issue with the folder(s).
2. You may have a login username and password, but bypass that on boot (so its appears you dont have one), so check out if that is what its looking for.
3. Try giving the folder credentials ! Then use those.
