    Default Sort order questions...

    Hi everybody!

I am getting so much help on here... Thx!

I have a few questions on bb sort order and ways for the best way to organize "my files" in the local files view and the sort order so that it makes sense for us...

I have nfo files and that seems to work well enough using the <title> field.

Now I would like to have the Harry Potter series grouped together, but I don't need to see Harry Potter in each title. Further, I would like to have them in chronological order.

Or, the "Reno 911" series, Everwood, Lord of the rings, etc...

I know there is a <sort title> field, but I am unclear as to how bb uses these 2 fields, and in what order... BTW, I have already set my general settings to ignore the prefixes and that is working fine.

Again, thx in advance for helping me with this!

If you are using NFO files and setting the names manually I suggest something custom like this..

    HP1-Philosopher's Stone
    HP2-Chamber of Secrets
    HP3-etc

We can't create folder to collapse them in , unless you don't mind defining them as a TVSHOW. You could define them through all NFO files as a TV Show "Harry Potter", with Episode 1 being the title "the Philosopher's Stone", etc. Of course, you will have to remember which movies have moved to the TV Show screen.

So would the suggested title go in the title field or the sort title field?

I saw yesterday that the title field is what appears in the my files view...
And of course, I do not really want to see hp1 show up in the view...
Or is the suggestion the actual file name?

    Thx for helping!!!
    Thx, Dan'l

As far as I know, Boxee doesn't make use of the sort title field in NFO files.

I think you'd have to settle for "HP1-etc" visually.
I didn't think the sorttitle tag was used by boxee either.

OK, So the HP1 and so on works...

But is there a way to not have it show? I mean the space under the thumbnails
is only so wide, and that takes up 4 spaces, LOL!

I want it to sort correctly, but not show, does that make sense?

No way to hide it. The list view rather than the 6x2 poster view lets' you see more text.

I wish I could decrease the font some and fit more, too.

    Okk, Thx anyway!!!

Since the nfo is basically a xtml structure, does anyone know of a way to hide text within a file?

Like a html kinda thing? I will look into this a little more and get back with ya...
    Thx, Dan'l
