Default Streaming Issues with Local Content

So I've had the BB for a week now and Im constantly battling bugs and hiccups. The most recent and most concerning I have encountered is the BB freezing during local content playback.

I have my file shares set up through SMB on my iMac running snow leopard 10.6.6. BB is finding my media ok, but during playback, typically 20-30 minutes in, it freezes and is unresponsive for about 5-6 minutes until it geeks out and and drops back to the main menu. Im able to resume starting from the last point, but its annoying as all hell.

Can anyone help suggest some where to start troubleshooting?

Does this happen if the Boxee Box is using a wired connection?

I have a wireless extender and Im wired directly from that. Did a speed test and Im pulling 30 Mbps, that should be sufficient, no?

Based on the fact that it always happens around the same time, is your Mac going into sleep mode?

No I dont think thats it, because Im able to exit and after freezing for the 5-6 minutes it kicks me out to the sources page, I start the file again and it resumes where it left off...there is no interaction with the mac at all to get the file to play again. Oh I should mention its doing this on 99% of the Navi-X content as well.

Glad to see Im completely alone on this issue :-/

The only thing I can think of is internet connection stability. Tonight I'll try going directly into the router to see if that helps.

I have had issues with wireless extenders like you are describing.

Speed test seem ok, but when there is a lot of data to move, ie streaming a movie, it gives out part way though.

Try a hard line and report back.
