Default My boxee box suddenly resets itself?

Hi, I'm relatively new to boxee box and didn't know where to go for help. Basically my brother bought this thing a long time ago, and never used it, i recently started using it and its been great. I had no problems watching TV shows or movies attached to my hard drive. I don't have it hooked up to internet so I only really watch whats on my hard drive. Noe this all worked fine before, but tonight for some reason every time i wanted to watch something in 1080p after a few seconds my surround sound receiver would turn off, and it kept shutting of my receiver. Eventually it stopped shutting of the receiver but then my boxee box would reset, like screen would go black, then I'd be at the start up screen. If I tried another 1080p movie it did the same thing. I played something that was 720p and it played through no problems. One thing I would notice is the boxee box logo would turn almost yellow then orange to red as it was resetting itself.

So like I said I'm new to this and don't know a whole lot about the troubleshooting I can do. I've been reading these forums seeing if someone else had this problem, but no luck. I noticed people update the boxee box. I have never updated software on it or anything other than pull it out of the box and plug it in, so is the solution as simple as updating software, and if so how do i do this? I'm hoping someone can help me out, Thanks.

Connect it to Internet if possible so that it can be updated to latest firmware version. Hopefully that will fix the issue.!!
