Can you give more details with your setup?? like BB connect to receiver(make/model) via hdmi/optical etc, receiver connected to tv.
I am guessing you are connecting BB directly to TV.

    Default HD Audio Issues

    Hi All

I have recently purchased a Boxee and have watched many films with HD Audio no problems ? I have a Yamaha V771. However the other day I started getting Audio Drop Outs in Super8, and it was really irritating! Is this issue hit and miss with certain movies ?

From what I understand from what I have read it's not a problem that's not going to be fixed anytime soon.

Is there any work around setting to resolve this on the Boxee i.e can the Boxee Downmix the True HD to DTS ?

Do I need to re-encode my mkv files from TrueHD to DD etc ?

If anyone could advise that would be grate thanks

I have encoded all of my movies for DTS and for the most part don't have any issues. Every once in awhile I have a split second dropout but I don't know whether that's Boxee or my network. It's nothing like the horrible 2-5 second dropouts I had with HD Audio. Try re-encoding Super8 with DTS and watch it again and see if you experience any issues. I think you'll find the experience better, even if you have to ditch HD Audio.

me for one I've come to the conclusion we got two hopes , no hope and bob hope to having the audio drop outs fixed. sadly we was promised everything with the boxee box and the one crucial thing it's missing is the hd audio ,oh and it can't stream hd video with out buffering ,it's a square lemon.i for one are looking at the dune set up.

Yes, it can, plenty of folks can get this to work though depending on your network setup and equipment, you may have to try a number of different things first (e.g. using NFS instead of SMB for one).

Most folks who must have HD audio do seem to like the Dune players so you'll probably be very happy with that.
