    Try this gem:

Press the largish "Reply to Thread" button on the bottom of any thread. Now type your message. Now press the same button again.

I suppose that's why you use the post button underneath the text box (which is what I've always at any rate so I see no reason to do it differently now)

(possible to do much the same thing over at SageTV.com using a much older version of the same software...)

Yes, agreed, bad design is bad design, regardless of how old it is.

The layout is very busy and the icons are too big. Trying to get one's bearings in a forum shouldn't take this much effort.

And then to top all that off, I don't get my Happy Birthday shoutout from the forum no more!

The new interface is too "busy", too much stuff taking a prominent position at the expense of the thread subjects itself. Lots of different icons with little value, too little contrast between the green and the now darker gray.

I don't remember if the old forum was different but one thing that I don't like is that links do not have any different formatting. The only way to see that they are links is to hover over the text. This isn't a huge issues when the link looks like a link (e.g., http://boxee.tv) but is if it is just linked text (e.g., which part of this sentence is a link?)

And as a note, when you preview your posts, the links appear green so they are easy to see... had me confused there for a second when I was writing that post and then previewed it and I could actually see the links!

The new layout is hard on my eyes and makes it hard to see everything at a glance and get an overview of the topics. Not so bad once you're in a thread though.
