    Default RSS Google Video help

Hello out there in Boxee land,

I got an Apple TV last week after I heard something good to do with it (*caugh* Boxee *caugh*) and so far, it's been a blast. Hulu is good (kinda iffy when it comes to the playback controls, though) since it's the main thing I've been playing around with. The only problem is that I am having some problems putting an RSS feed into my account. I go to app.boxee.tv/home/rss and try to add the following link:

    http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=mst3k&output=rss

I've tried changing the "html" into "feed" and "rss" (and removing the "&output=rss" just to be sure) and so far no luck. I keep getting the error message "Invalid Feed (#12)" when I try to add it. I've searched the forums and found nothing that would be close to what I've tried to do. Any help would be most appreciated.

    Thanks!

By the way, the feed is for searching out Mystery Science Theater 3000 episodes, which I know some people must like on here.

I'm hoping you've figured it out, but just in case you haven't:

The url that google gives you is too long for boxee (as far as i can tell) go to www.tinyurl.com and swap the long url out for a shorter one. boxee will then recognize the feed, however not all items will be playable. Just fyi.

Thanks for the advice, but the tinyurl advice didn't help. I went to the website and got

    http://tinyurl.com/dx5xf9

I plugged it into the RSS Feed page in my Boxee page and it still produced the "Invalid Feed (#12)" error. Any other advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

Try posting it in the MY Feeds section in App Box.

    I pasted this link:

    http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=mst3k&output=rss

    and it worked for me.

When you say the MY Feeds section, do you mean the My RSS page after logging in via the web interface?

No, he means in boxee you go to App box/ my feeds, then select "add a new feed".

I'm having the same issue -- concidentally, with the exact same Google Video search (mst3k ftw). Tinyurl in app.boxee.tv did not work, and putting it in as a feed within Boxee *says* it was successful and directed me to find it under Video -> Internet. Alas, it is not there nor in My Feeds, and returning to App Box to the Feeds section, the feed I just added has disappeared.

    Help?

Oh snap, nevermind -- figured it out! I opened up /Users/kalemeow/Library/Application Support/BOXEE/UserData/profiles/kalemeow/sources.xml and saw that it was trying to use http://tinyurl.com/dnbyyy as the feed. I changed this to rss://tinyurl.com/dnbyyy and restarted Boxee -- and there it is in my Video->Internet section. Hurray!

I was able to add this feed too, but it only displays the first 10 items of the search result and I know that there are way more than 10 mst3k episodes on google video. Is there a workaround for this?
