Default Easy way to send content from desktop to TV (AirPlay-like)

    Guys,

I'm amazed by how easy it is to send stuff like photos or YouTube videos from iOS devices to Boxee using AirPlay. This absolutely trumps using the remote + apps, I can barely believe I was not using this before...

Now the million-dollar question: if it takes me two taps to send content from an iOS device to my Boxee Box... There *must* be a way to do something similar from a desktop Mac. There has to be a comparably easy, real-time solution for sending, say, a YouTube video I have open on my desktop browser to my Boxee Box.

    ...right?

Please shed some light into this dark soul.

    Thanks!

    Yes, please, me too!

I've been trying to find something like this for the last two hours, but no luck. AirParrot only works with iOS devices.

I wish I had good news... The watch later feature is still not usable for me because it's not fast enough (takes forever for a new item to make it to the queue on the TV) and AirPlay is not very consistent on Boxee. Although I still love Boxee and use it quite often I ended up buying an Apple TV as well just for Airplay, especially now that Mountain Lion has "native" support for it : /

It does work for things like pictures and Youtube videos, but for other things (like AirParrot on OS X Lion and, I believe, Mountain Lion's "native Airplay" feature) I have been unable to make it work.

For things that work like pictures, how do you see them on boxee ? do they have to be in a library that you can browse with a built in viewer, or do you see on tv the finder and you can go to your picture folder and open them with the program you want ?

Not to worry, Google is already working on a stand-alone app. http://www.engadget.com/2012/08/06/y...tion-official/
