Unhappy Boxee Box Doesn't Work With RT-N56U

I've seen another thread like this one but it seems to have gone cold and or never actually solved the problem. So let's try this again.

I have a Boxee Box that is the only problem device on my home network using an ASUS RT-N56U router. Considering this is the highest rated router in all categories via smallnetbuilder.com I have to assume this is a Boxee Box problem.

Simply put, the box refuses to connect to the network at all no matter what settings are used. (Wired, Wireless, Static, DHCP, etc.) Wireless sometimes works but this is simply not good enough.

I've found a "solution" but I don't like it. Downgrade the router to 1.0.1.7f. Seems none of the 1.0.1.8 series of firmwares will work for the Boxee Box.

Where do we go from here?

What version of Boxee are you using and what channel is your network on?

Many are working. I have one and running 1.0.1.8e (connected wired to one box, and wireless to the other). What are your router settings (security,DNS, DHCP, etc)?
Boxee Box 1: 1.5.1.23735, Wired, HDMI, HW Version B1 Boxee Box 2: 1.5.1.23735, Wireless via Asus EA-N66, HDMI, HW Version A2
    Network: Wired Ethernet Cat6 (Box1), Wireless (Box2)
    Server 1: unRAID (15.5TB) Server 2: Synology DS-210j (1.5TB Raid1) Server 3: Synology DS-411j (4TB Raid1)
    Router: Asus RT-N56U w/Custom FW
    Switch: HP Procurve 1410-8G

@ Seekified: 1.5.1.23735-b6a5be1 and my wireless channel is set to Auto.

@ Mrbryanr: The router and Boxee Box have both been reset to defaults during all of my previous testing. I simply re-setup my WiFi SSID and passwords and setup 3 port forwards for Air Video, Minecraft, & Plex. I can't think of any particular setting that could prevent only the Boxee Box from connecting.

@ Drunkwithpower: Glad to hear yours is working! Do you have a newer Boxee Box or one of the launch ones? As mine is one of the launch ones if that matters.

I'd like to try and point out again that this is exclusive to the Boxee Box and all other devices in the house work perfectly in both a mix of wired and wireless with both DHCP and static configurations.

Wired Apple TV 2 = Working (DHCP)
    Wired DNS-323 = Working (Static)
    Wired DNS-323 (2) = Working (Static)
    Wired iMac = Working (Static)
Wired Mac mini = Working (Static)
    Wired Onlive = Working (DHCP)
Wired Power Mac G4 = Working (Static)
    Wired Printer = Working (Static)
Wired Windows PC = Working (Static)
Wired Windows PC (2) = Working (Static)

Wireless iPad 2 = Working (DHCP)
Wireless iPad 3 = Working (DHCP)
Wireless iPhone 4 = Working (DHCP)
Wireless iPhone 4[S] = Working (DHCP)
    Wireless iPhone 4[S] (2) = Working (DHCP)
    Wireless Roku = Working (DHCP)
    Wireless Wii = Working (Static)
Wireless Windows Laptop = Working (DHCP)

Thanks again guys for all your help. Hopefully what I've provided helps some.

Mine works too. I will leave it to someone more technically inclined to provide a solution but don't want to detour someone from getting this router based off your post.

The RT-56 works great with the latest firmware. have you checked your cables. On further note when you flash the router firmware you have to do a reset on the router or some settings and functions don't take effect. Great Router...... (Do the Reset after Flashing).

Also you didn't say if your boxee has a static IP, Mine is cofigured static.
I tend to think its a network setting or cable issue.

@ Yur_maker: I tried your advice and swapped my network cable for a "known good" one with no luck. (The link light works but the handshake just doesn't seem to jive.) What's even worse is that by trying to force the wired connection it stopped working via wireless again so now I have a net-less box again.

EDIT: Here's a photo of the "we see it but no dice" message. http://db.tt/iDjOGEIc

I've tried both static assignment and DHCP for the Boxee Box to no avail. I'd prefer it to be static as I like all wired things in the house to be static so I can connect to them easily. The only DHCP devices are ones that move in and out of the house often.

I understand your "reset after upgrade" advice and I have tried that before but it didn't help. Here's how my experience has gone thus far.

1.0.1.8b = Everything in house good except for stubborn Boxee Box. Downgrade back to 1.0.1.7f out of desperation and Boxee Box comes back online.

    1.0.1.8d = Repeat

1.0.1.8e = Repeat (Only this time I'm still on the current firmware and trying to fix it before I downgrade back to reliable old 1.0.1.7f.

On a completely Boxee Box unrelated note, has anyone else noticed that the 5Ghz network on the RT-N56U seems to lag behind the 2.4Ghz network?

Example: I get a Google Voice / GroupMe / Facebook push notification on my iPhone and iPad and both should ding at the same time but the iPad connecting to the 5Ghz network sometimes doesn't get the push until a minute or 2 later. If I connect back to the 2.4Ghz network they ding almost in sync.
