Found this, can anyone confirm the version?
    http://www.sweboxee.se/pcmaclinux/

Seems like they have the 1.5 release för MAC?
    Compared to the 0.9x version...

It says in swedish that this is the last release that was announced in december 2011.

Just was worried since no one here really pointed towards the 1.5 version.
Has anyone tested this and found out that it didnt work as good as the old one?

The link that I posted above has been updated to have all the executables available for each version.

Yes v1.5 was the last release, there will be no updates; can't speak to how well it works on Mac as I don't use Boxee software on Macs.

    Default Thanks for the update

I'm saddened to hear they dropped support for the desktop versions. The software works so well that I guess I just missed the news alert on the web (where did they announce it?).

I absolutely freakin' love this software, and have been a HUGE supporter, gone to an event, and I've talked about it constantly over the years, and have recommended Boxee Boxes to countless friends, family members and clients. I've probably contributed to 5-10 purchases.

I just happen to be in a position where the desktop software makes more sense for "me" right now (and I'll probably always want to have it on my computer, even with a media center in the family room). I understand the need to focus on deliverables that pay. Maybe they figured I was in the minority, but I would have GLADLY paid Boxee for the desktop software (I like it that much).

    Cheers

I didn't realize they had discontinued them until today. I didn't upgrade from the 0.9x versino to 1.5 because it dropped Netflix streaming, and I still had my netflix streaming account. Now that that is gone and I was updating my boxee-mac db I realized it wasn't identifying 600 files that boxee box could. I couldn't find any mention of mac/window on the site and google to the rescue...

I understand that developing for four platforms increases costs, but it's a shame they didn't maintain one outside of the hardware. Windows being an obvious choice, but even a linux variant would be good. And a license for full functionality would not be unreasonable. Of course, any licensing scheme costs money. But in the days of VMWARE & PARALLELS it isn't that hard for geeky users to launch a Debian virtual to run a favorite app. And I'm sure most of boxee Mac/PC/Linux users were of the geekier variety.

This is also a shame because I BOUGHT my Boxee Box based upon my experience with Boxee on Mac. The software allowed me to prove out most of the functionality and design of the interface. I also showed it off to friends at work and at their houses. I don't know if I would have made the jump without the first hand experience. I don't know of anyone with a Boxee-nobody has even heard of it. I asked for it at Best Buy (which had 2 in stock) and they had no clue what I was talking about.

I tried XBMC and found the interface confusing. I liked some things, but I kept stumbling around. I'll have to look at Plex. Long term I'll have to replace Boxee on my Mac. For now it will stay.

[EDIT] I think I may have to roll back to 0.9x because 1.5 is almost unusable for me. The mouse doesn't work in fullscreen. It defaults to internet videos when I go to movies, where it used to (and boxee box currently does) default to my files. I've tried changing the setting and so far it won't change. It has crashed three times in 5 minutes. If this what others experienced jumping to 1.5, I see why there was so many complaints before its demise

[EDIT] 1.5 became unusable, crashing every few minutes. I rolled back to 0.9x. A sad loss. I don't like the regular XBMC or Plex.
