Default Netflix!, LoveFilm! ITV Player etc etc.

One day I hear "We are working on bringing Netflix to the UK", next I hear "Contact Netflix" or "nothing to announce".

Last year I read all over the internet that Lovefilm was coming to boxee, guess what!? It never did!!!!

I love my boxee (unlike some people on here), but the lack of Apps outside of the US is extremely disappointing.

    NO NetFlix.
    NO Lovefilm
    No ITV Player
    No 4OD
    No channel 5
    No SKY

It seems the only thing working is BBCiplayer!

I dont want excuses or reasons why it wont work. If Dlink really want these deals the apps can always be created to work on Boxee, it just seems to me that no one is chasing down these deals.

Then compare this to the Roku box, launched just a couple of months ago in the UK.

They have Netflix! and BBCiplayer already with LoveFilm coming imminently.

Sales team Vs no sales team it seems to me.

    There are ways around it.

    I use this: http://unblock-us.com/2129.html

it's fairly cheap, it works great, and it gets you access to more than just netflix.

edit: i do realize it's not the brit stuff you want, but at least it gets you content...

edit2: Unblock-us just released a beta that allows people to access USA, Canadian and UK netflix with one account. A little buggy but it works!

There's 3rd party apps to get itv, pretty basic though. Roku sounds good, its just an internet streamer though isn't it, eg doesn't play from network drives.

I think boxee are more interested in filling the box with porn channels rather than content for us over here!

add http://ps3.channel4.com/ to your boxee browser faves to get 4od... see it is possible to get content on there without a flash update.

I have multiple boxee box's to view web (and local) content. And I use the unblockus stuff to get netflix content (much better than uk version). However, I get your point. I am a big supporter of boxee and put a lot of effort into championing it etc.
It is disappointing when it could offer a better UK service than it does. And the kit is more expensive here as well. I can see a well placed competitor like google or even Apple making a cheap smart tv box that gives people the UK specific content they want.
It is already a really cool product. I hope the boxee team can keep up!

It's not really about keeping up though as Boxee used to have more UK content but over the year has lost it whilst other devices have got to the point where they have a lot more UK content than boxee has.

The reason for this? They actually put some effort in.

Default No lovefilm on boxee- big disappointment.

Have just paid my subscription to lovefilm. Expected to be able to se movies using my boxee but apparently not. My blurry player comes with lovefilm installed but I cannot access it on my boxee on another tv! I was sold boxee as being better than apple TV and yet users of apple tv can watch lovefilm on their tv via their iPad. Huge disappointment!

What's the address for the "Mr Anonymus Online TV" Repo? Or do I just put that in the repo?

    Thanks.
