    Default Center channel issues

I just got my boxee up and running and am having problem with my center channel. Older shows not recorded in surround are fine but the moment I enable DTS & or Dolby some TV shows and movies the center channel does not work.

For some if I disable DTS the center channel but I loose center channel output if I enable DTS the center is fine, its very frustrating as I have to check at least 4-5 different file types each time! I tried enabling disabling different options but I still have the same issue.

    Audio output is through HDMI.

Please provide the video file info using MediaInfo, so that we can see what kind of audio codec is there.

    Also please correct the following

Basically if I disable all the audio options in the audio menu eg DTS Dolby etc all files work but sound is flat. I think its just pumping everything in Stereo. If I enable DTS some movies work perfectly, while others I lose the center channel and I cannot hear ANY voice. I have tried about 20 different combinations but nothing seems to work for all file types:

    Here is the first file:

    Audio

    ID : 2
    Format : AC-3
    Format/Info : Audio Coding 3
Mode extension : CM (complete main)
    Codec ID : A_AC3
    Duration : 21mn 22s
    Bit rate mode : Constant
    Bit rate : 384 Kbps
    Channel(s) : 2 channels
    Channel positions : Front: L R
    Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz
    Bit depth : 16 bits
    Compression mode : Lossy
    Stream size : 58.7 MiB (10%)
    Default : Yes
    Forced : No

    2nd file:

    Audio

    ID : 2
    Format : AC-3
    Format/Info : Audio Coding 3

    Codec ID : A_AC3

I think audio codec A_AC3 is the cause of your issue !! I've found this jira issue where users don't have any output from A_AC3 . I'll advise you to open a support ticket with Boxee .
