Default type the address of the show manually

I've kind of worked my way around the popups for the moment. I've denied popups in the settings section. when I go to the web browser I manually type the web show or website manually, then no more popups, it helps if you search your show first on a laptop or tablet, that way if you have a long link, you can copy it manually quicker. its a pain in the butt with long addresses, but it works for me and I'm not ready to throw the boxee out the window.

Default Will this be fixed soon?

So after months of convincing my brother to buy a Boxee, because they are awesome, he finally was pretty convinced. His one main stipulation, was that it must be able to block and/or allow popups as needed for his show sites - a feature that his PS3 does not allow him to do. I have used the Boxee for doing this, and absolutely loved the box that would appear allowing the user to either accept or deny the popup, so I told him everything would work just fine.

He came over to my house to test-out my boxee last night, and began using the browser to pull-up a show - AND NOW IT DOES NOT WORK!!! No longer is the Boxee functioning like I told him it would. I realized this must have changed in the last update a few weeks ago, so I hopped on this forum and can see that it does appear to be the case - was it broken on all Boxees because of the latest update?

For my brother, the browser capabilities was the greatest selling point of the Boxee, and he was ready to go out buy one tomorrow - but now he wont.

Any news on if this feature will ever be back?

This definitely needs fixing. I cannot believe the Boxee team believe a simple on off switch fixes the problem, especially considering you have to exit the browser to change the setting thus losing the page you were on.

I think dlink is profiting from these popups and the money they are generating. personally, seeing how dlink has a total disregard for customers and just doesn't care, not even that this might hurt their bottom line in the future on how they treat this. I for one will stear clear of any d link product in the future.

They know. See the history for this issue.

But, will they do something about it? I suggest you vote the issue up and post questions / comments there.
