It's not matter of hating and being a hater... [haters are the ones that sold their boxee box and come here to bash it, which is not more than couple of ppl that we all know by now]

people/users are passionate about this product and they know the capability of the box and they're just frustrated that we don't get what it was advertised for...

Actually Boxee should be delighted to have such a engaged customer base, since it's a niche market.

haha are you guys serious? are they gonna release a boxee box version 2? (well, a new boxee box..)

if thats true, that is so good damn hilarious.

they fucked up the boxee box (version 1) so hard that i want to smash my own head into the wall as soon as i hear the word "boxee", and now they think we should buy a new one?

what says this one is gonna be better?

haha, just can't stop laughing, and the funniest thing of all is that people actually buy their bullshit and is gonna buy the new boxee box too..

So much hating and bashing here. It's hard for me take these posts seriously. If you hate the product that much, why spend the time here trashing it?

I'm frustrated with my boxee box, but I still love it and it is still the only device out there that can do what I need it to do. What's frustrating is how close it is to being utterly awesome. Fix flash, fix HD audio, add large drive support, add gigabit ethernet, and enhance some of the audio/codecs and it would be really excellent.

Firmware updates are not announced ahead of release. We're all hoping for one though.

When you buy a product that mostly works, then is broken by failure after failure of forced firmware updates, I think you have a right to trash it and the developers. Especially with the piss poor customer service coming from team boxee. As for alternatives, I would trade this crap box in a heart beat for an Xbox. I personally am going to purchase an apple TV and put xbmc on it. The boxee has basically turned into a broken Roku for 3 times the price.
    Modem/Motorola SB6141
    Router/Asus RT-N16
    PC - (2x) 6-Core 2439 Opterons, 32GB Ram, SLI GTX670, (2x) 240GB SSD in Raid '0', Seasonic x1250 PSU.
    Boxeebox firmware 1.5.1.23734
4TB NAS, 1TB WD Passport on box w/32GB SDCard in box.

If a new BoxeeBox is really going to be launched, then I believe the current BoxeeBox will be discontinued.

If this is the case (Boxee will stop supporting the current BoxeeBox), then I really believe that they should open the old/current BoxeeBoxes so we (users) could extend its lifespan by trying to install alternative software in the box (such as XBMC).

I have several Xbox360's. They won't play my BD ISOs which is what I use my Boxee Box for. The Xboxes also only have 720P and DD audio from VUDU while the Boxee Box has 1080P24 video and DD+ audio from VUDU that works extremely well. The Xbox cannot replace the Boxee Box.

I agree, they are too busy developing useless "Cloudee" and going on road trips.
