Thread: No Netflix, Vudu or premium content after last FW

Default No Netflix, Vudu or premium content after last FW

Really strange, but after installing the last FW I got the other day there is no longer any premium content. I use Netflix every single day so this is a huge issue for me. Also no Vudu app either.

Anyone else experience this? Any solutions?

EDIT: Should probably mention that I use a VPN to access Netflix. Has been working great until now.

Are you in the US or Canada? Are you using VPN or something like unblock-us ?

I use a VPN pptp server from outside us. But this might have something to do with the issues I've been having upgrading. Maybe something is broken in the fw I got working (manually installed).

I've had a problem with Netflix since the last beta update myself. Every Netflix file that I try to play gives me a "There was an issue playing this file" message. I was testing a pptp vpn for NBA League Pass (which doesn't work) but I can't figure out how to remove the VPN settings. Do I just delete all of the values under that connection? I don't know if this will help my Netflix issue but it's worth a shot...

I use unblock-us and was having issues with NF for a couple days so I tried logging into the site from within the boxee browser (before that I never logged in, it just always worked) and it started working fine.

@KluddKalle please make sure that the vpn is using a US IP address.. Do you see US channels under TV Shows library >Channels

@marcel: Yeah, I checked that. It's wierd because when I go via the browser to Netflix it treats me like an American. But in the BB menus I get no content at all. No movies or channels or apps. Some shows but only like TED and stuff that's free.

When I use the box without VPN it works fine. Read something about someone with a similar problem and the issue seemed to have with the gateway in BB being set to 0.0.0.0 when logged into VPN. Will check this when I get home but have no idea how to solve it.

@xnowimcoolx: Did this but sadly it didn't work...

Ok, so the problem might be that the default gateway gets set to 0.0.0.0 when connected to VPN.

How do I fix this? I can set it manually but don't know to what. Any ideas?

I have the exact same problem..
Go to favorites apps and Netflix is there, if i connect to VPN pptp, then go back to apps, Netflix is gone. Disconnect from VPN, then Netflix shows up again.
    What's the deal Boxee?!?!?!?
