still can not add tv episodes, its ridiculous we found a way to screw up the pause icon but cant find a way to fix it so we can add tv episodes.

Custom option has not been working for a while ...i believe it has not worked in 1.5 .

I understand the frustration however not sure that this feature is so widely used ..you can adjust the zoom from the OSD .

Thank you Marcel for the reply. Custom zoom is not working since 1.5 indeed. Can you confirm if you will really let it aside for next FW releases? If so, I will stop waiting new releases and will downgrade my Box definitely. It is a pity because the new GUI is a very good improvement in terms of visual.

It is possible this feature isn't widely used, but from my point of view it is one of those that makes diference on Boxee vs other players. Better yet the system used to record the zoom level for each movie file.

For movies with aspect ratio like 2.35:1, the zoom from OSD crops the screen too much. Using the custom zoom, I was able to define how much screen I wanted to sacrify to get a better image range.

Really like this version. Snappy and quick and also plays my media almoste flawless.
Manual ID still broken though.

I cannot get embedded subtitles to work in two of my recently added DVD-rip mkv's. I did revert to the previous beta (1.5.1.23679) and there it plays the embedded subtitle if set to be displayed by default, but in neither this or last beta I can see the "globe"-menu for these movies and are thus not able to select audio and subtitle language. It's quite strange that the boxee finds and plays the subs in the previos beta but don't present me with an option to choose myself in either version.

Regarding the pause issue we listened to you guys and fixed it ..we are not adjusting it again in the near future.

That is exactly my point. Custom zoom isn't working, you can't adjust it from OSD, and it hasn't worked for awhile. It did work and one of the updates broke it. So go back into the old code, get it back out and fix it. Before you try to add other "enhancements" fix the stuff you broke that used to work.

This is exactly what I think. They have to stop adding stuff and solve all the problems. The SMB/NFS buffering issue still there, the bug untouched, just a example.

this issue isn't unique to this beta, but i figured i'd throw it out there. is anyone experiencing the remote sounds not working for the first 3 presses of the remote after the box is initially booted up? every single time i boot up, the remote sounds don't kick in until the fourth press. been this way for a while and it's not a big deal, just thought i'd throw it out there.

  Pause icon is simply removed. There is a need for a clearly indicated pause icon to know that the playback is actually paused and not bugged.

BTW, I believe it is plain wrong just to assume that there are a few people using a feature (that was working!), and instead of fixing it (it was working!) Boxee simply removed it. Same thing as the Pause icon. People were complaining it was too big, and instead of making it smaller Boxee just removed the icon.

Is removing features becoming a pattern to just cheaply reduce the backlog of the issues? You don't improve quality by simply removing code!!!

Are Manual ID of TV Shows and filtering out online episodes the next features that will be removed just because Boxee cannot fix it?!?

BTW, why is Boxee breaking so many things in this new betas? Is there any real progress that would justify things getting so worse?

Usually new features may justify some regressions, but really, it seems tha Boxee is trying to fix 5 things while breaking other 50 things without adding any new significat feature! (I am considering the new GUI added in 1.5.0 a nice new feature that would justify some regressions, but these 1.5.1 releases should fix the previous regressions, and not introduce more problems and remove features!)

please put custom view option back. i got some movies that will not go full screen no matter what zoom option i choose. the custom view was perfect for these movies.

has anyone else notice when playing a movie with ac3 sound it will not rewind exactly 5 seconds. i have to double click to rewind 5 secs or more. playing movies with dts rewinds exactly 5 seconds with 1 click.
