New Beta firmware 1.5.1.23731 please download the file and rename it to boxee.iso or just to boxee (if the file extension is hidden)and then follow these instructions to install.

Change log below from 1.5.0.23615 to 1.5.1.23731

Bug fixes

Live TV

• Cannot launch Live TV after a successful scan
• Zip Code on Live TV needs to be mandatory, previously you could leave blank and select Next
• Live TV edit channel caused a crash
  
• When you have more than 2 friends watching the same show, none is presented
• Live TV: Audio / Video sync problem

Networking & File Playback

• Cannot skip audio tracks (mp3 mainly) when playing video and audio
• Video too slow, sound normal, playback unwatchable; AVI MSMPEG4 Video with mp3 Audio
• Loud audio distortion on non-bitstreamed sources
• Low resolution XviD/DivX videos playback is slow, stutters and dying audio
• Folder browsing stack not cleared when using sidebar menu to switch browsing target
• HDMI Audio failed to initialize error forces reboot to play any video and get audio output (AVR turned off)
• Loud distorted sound over SPDIF when playing MP3 audio using wolfgang's vault app
• Stacked files: SMB password shown in file path
• Some 720p XviD avi plays choppy, stuttering

Libraries

• "A" and "The" are ignored but "An" is not (for Ignore Prefixes for Local Content on Sort setting)

Browser

• Browser Redirect Bug (pop up management), selection added under Settings>System>Browser

Applications

• Video/audio skip with netflix

Interface

• Episode thumbnails are too small
• Greyed out image overlay via watched TV shows should be removed and just the green watched icon should be displayed
• Browsing for subtitles does not load
• There is no focus in browser history screen
• Reduce presence of the pause icon in OSD
• Update the CC icon in OSD to a new one to reflect current scope of the dialog
• Show IMDB rating with decimal point.

Remote

• Web interface (i.e. iPhone remote) does not accept lowercase L character entry

Localization

• Error in Swedish translations
• Italian strings in 1.5
• Portuguese translation (pt-br) issues in firmware 1.5

none of the tickets opened for this issue are resolved or fixed and it's not listed in the release/fix notes above - don't count on it being fixed.

this one i don't understand - there are the actual error messages from boxee logs in the tickets opened,

i.e; ERROR: CGUIDialogBoxeeManualResolve::AddMovie, unable to add video to database, path = smb://TOWER/movies/TV/House MD/Season 08/House.S08E11.mkv (manual).

i'm not sure why boxee still seems confused on this and asking for more examples from users - it happens with every manual id of any tv show or movie with or without an .nfo. this is a code issue, not an end user issue.

Finally, I know the BB team dont have time or interest for fixing bug from music features, but the report http://jira.boxee.tv/browse/BOXEE-12335 is a regression bug and it is very annoying.

  I think they might look a bit too big now. Wish there was a setting to toggle the size of those thumbnails.

  Pretty much worst than it used to be... Looks terribly unprofessional compare to previous version.

  Pause icon is simply removed. There is a need for a clearly indicated pause icon to know that the playback is actually paused and not bugged.

Other than that, didn't see much difference with my usage. Seems to be 'OK' ish

Downloaded the latest ISO but still doesn't fix my issue that occured after the last update in early February. Can't get into factory menu which will allow me to update from USB. Hold the power button for 5-8 or 6-10 seconds, I get a yellow icon, but after a few seconds starts flashing 2 red, and one green. Filed a report, say to send box back. I have had the box for a year and some months, and never had much for issues (except having to go into factory settings after EVERY update). Has anyone resolved this yet or are there others out there that cannot get their boxee going after this last update? Do I really have to send the box back?
