Also, try disconnecting any other USB drives other than the one you are using to update. I find that if I have my main USB drive (containing media) plugged in at the same time as the USB pen drive I use to update, it refuses to find the boxee.iso file (it appears to give up after checking the first drive it finds).

Any idea for getting my drive and boxee to work would be very much appreciated.

It shouldn't be like this. Boxee is great when it works.

Recognizing HDDs on the BBox should not be a problem, but I know many have had issues with this - personally I've had 4 USB HDDs and 2 USB flash drives connected at the same time to the BBox via a 7 port powered hub -- but before each of them was used on the BBox (or my Windows PC(s) ) I formatted them in Windows (to NTFS) and did not rely on the factory (out of the box) formatting -- I have 11 different WD USB HDDs that I use to back up my entired media library, multiple PC BUs to and image and various other info/data and my BBox(s) will ID all of them when connetced

All I can add is to make sure the HDDs are properly shared to 'everyone' and be sure the security settings are also set for 'everyone' - and reboot all network devices after setting the shares and security settings on the HDD

And one more item to mention - currently the BBox will only recognize up to a 2Tb USB HDD - a kernel revision in a new FW is reported to be available in the future to fix this, but is not ready for release yet
