Default Xbox 360 controller as a remote?

Hey. I was wondering if anyone had tried using an Xbox 360 controller as a remote in Boxee and knew if it worked. I'm considering buying one for use on the same computer I run Boxee on and want to minimize my expenses.

    Thanks for the help.

i use my xbox controller to control xbmc, ive recently started using boxee, download xpadder, its a nice little software that lets you map keys to certain 360 controller buttons, its really simple, if you need help on a config file let me know i can send you mine.

Is your 360 controller wired or wireless?

If its wireless how does it communicate with your PC?

Im using EventGhost to map the xbox360 controller,
to bad that Boxee don't have native support for this controller since it would be a logic step to support it, like the xbox controller was supported for XBMC.

Sorry to rehash an old post - but I couldn't find that someone has done this already - and posted it. So I did it.

An event client is the best route to use the 360 Controller. I have modified the XBMC 360 event client to use Boxee's event server 9770 port. Tested on Windows 7 x64 with the Wireless usb receiver. I have both this and the xbmc 360 event client running as services at the same time. The event client has to be running before you start Boxee or the controller will not work.

    Here's the win32 binary: Download
