hacked appletv 1g boxee error

hi, im having problem with boxee not launching or updating at all after i installed the ATV USB-Creator. I got software menu and launcher.. I can update xbmc but not boxee. it gives me error message. Also under software menu, i cant update 3rd party. It tells me to press play and restart atv. Anyone can tell me whats going on or how i can fix it?

Sorry brother, its broken, and has been for a long time. They removed the boxee download from within Launcher. Your only choice is a manual install of boxee (download the dmg, unpack and sftp the app into ~/frontrow/applications/.

This will unlikely ever be fixed, they moved on a long time ago.

Sorry guys. Boxee isn't supporting the ATV version anymore. Or the Windows version. Or the Mac version. After coming up with Boxee 1.5, all of the "build your own Boxee" downloads were removed from the website.

The atvusb patchstick doesn't have the actual Boxee software on it. It was pulling the download off the Boxee website during setup. Since that download isn't there anymore, the patchstick has nothing to install. So you can't get Boxee on an ATV anymore.

The best bet for ATV owners now is to switch to XBMC (which Boxee is built on). Crystalbuntu with XBMC actually increase ATV's top resolution from 720p to 1080p with far less stuttering, pausing to cache, failing to stream, etc. Give it a try!

Wait here you are saying to unpack it into frontrow/applications where in other posts you insist that it go in the root Applications directory.

root applications folder only, assuming you used atvusb, ran smart installer. OS.dmg a good idea also (then run smart installer again).

if you are smart enough, you can ssh into the atv, issue wget to the DL link in my signature, then issue unzip, them issue mv to the boxee.app folder. I have done this atleast 5 - 6 times, so I know it works, but...............

Its broken, dead, useless, give up. Try XBMC Eden, works awesome. XBMC does more.

I am experiencing the same problem too. what should I do?
