Thumbs down Global Changes to Sort by Date or Alphabetical Ordering

In the newest 1.5 update, when I sort a folder from Alphabetical (default) to Chronological, it changes all folders.

This makes no sense! Who listens to music tracks on an album based on date uploaded? Who watches a TV season in order of download date?

For my local folder that contains my most recent downloads, that is a folder where I want the most recent files at the top.

For my local folder with my TV archive, I want it alphabetical.

It is insane to think this is somehow an improvement to the UI. It is just another example of blatant disregard for us local file users of the Box.

Why anyone would want a Season 1 of a series to sort by date downloaded, over alphabetical ordering that is proper, is beyond me, and should be way below Boxee's standards.

You sort your season episodes alphabetically? I wasn't even aware that was possible. TV episodes are typically sorted by episode number, either increasing or decreasing.

Are you using the TV and Movie library interface or just browsing folders through the file browser? You mentioned folders a few times - this is really not the way to use Boxee Box, and IMO, the folder browsing is just about the weakest part of the entire product.

If not using the Library features in Boxee, the WDTV Live is probably a better product alternative.
Manta TR1 IR Receiver for Boxee and HTPC - Use your Universal Remote with Boxee Box or XBMC HTPC, including Raspberry Pi
Also for Windows, Linux & Mac OS X: Windows Media Center, SageTV, JRiver Media Center, MediaPortal, XBMC, Plex, MythTV, etc.
