First off, LOVE Boxee!!!
I will bold the bugs within the steps to reproduce and Italicize related suggestions...
Bug 1) Tabbing in Source setup and buttons not working normally
Settings/Media Sources and Applications/Network Sources/Add New Source/...select server, prompt for Uname and Password, tab does not move to password field (or better yet after entering Uname autotab suggested)
enter password, tab to buttons doesn't work, using mouse to click cancel actually highlights confirm, haven't found a way to click cancel
Bug 2) Nav Quirk in Source List Page
Right clicking to navigate back to prior menu while cursor is over a source instead enters the sources details You have to mouse over a dead part of screen to right click to go back Related suggestion: A back button/icon/arrow in all nav screens as in Win MCE AND make Navigation 'breadcrumb trail' at top of screen clickable to go to that level...WOOHOO that would be sweet
Bug 3) MS-DVR files are not scanned/indexed to show in TV shows list
Added local Users\Public\RecordedTV folder to Local Sources
Nav'ed to Videos\TV Shows\...No Results Found...
Nav back to Video\Browse, select RecordedTV...all MS-DVR files appear and are playable (I did unit test this with the naming conventions noted in applicable thread)
Bug 4) Scanning/Indexing networked sources
I have read about the naming conventions required for Boxee, but...
for Windows Vista MCE users, indexing their MS-DVR files natively, especially given the already standard naming of MS-DVR's, would be a huge plus! Renaming hundreds of files sux in order to be recognized by Boxee, impractical and unrealistic. See my post in this thread for my suggested solutions.
Also, if a file has a recognized format (practically all) why not let all the files in selected sources use whatever filename (or truncated version) and be able to be indexed showing in Movies, auto-render thumbnail? Why follow an exclusion approach versus inclusion?
Bug 5) Blu-Ray Playback using External Player
Playing a DVD works fine via menu, but playing a Blu-Ray is spitting out an error. Is there a way to set the BD player in applications to run in an embedded manner? I have Power DVD HD. Plays BR's fine in that player. Didn't see a way to do this. Here's an example of how it was done in GB-PVR Not embedded, but cycles back to app. Here's the XBMC thread. Does Boxee have this xml file/ability?
Also poking around, I clicked 'Public Torrents' and breadcrumb trail shows 'Settings/Media Sources' not 'Settings/Applications' with typical Media Add source form. I know about dropping torrents in that applicable folder, but it strikes me that this could use some UI text to describe purpose and how to use and clean breadcrumb. Deleted the Torrent 'app' by accident and don't know how to restore, but it's unlikely that I will use as my BT client drops things where I want and is more robust.
