I recently added 2 Boxee Boxes to my home after getting a little frustrated with my Ps3's for streaming. I like the BB's ability to handle MKV files which was the main frustration with Ps3's. With the recent update to the BB's has started to do not recognize files accurately.

My video files are located on a HP mediaserver on my network. I browse my files through BB's UNpnp method to access the my media files. After the update SOME of my MKV files will not always play. I will get a "File format is corrupt and/or is not a recognized format".

Another problem I am having is files being showing up in the wrong folders. I recently uploaded two movies to a folder and those movies is showing up in another folder via BB's browser. I have deleted the files and reloaded them but for some reason it showing up in the wrong folder. Oddly enough the 2 files will play properly in the wrong folder.

What can I do to resolve these issues?

First, you might want to use SMB (Windows Network) instead of UPnP when accessing files on the media server from the Boxee Box or when adding Local Files via Settings.

Start with using SMB and then see if things don't work better.
