    Default My Boxee is 64C on idle, is it normal?

    Any modern CPU will run a slight temperature as long as it's running at all.

    But here I need to add that to keep that temperature your fan is running at 50% of max speed, which makes it quite likely that the semiconductors would take damage from the much higher temperature that would result if you removed the fan, like you suggested doing in another thread.

    All modern CPUs need cooling to survive, and even with cooling they'll be considerably above normal room temperature, even when the CPU is just 'idling'

    It's still running. 'Idle' just means it's not doing anything very useful for the moment, but simply running around in maintenance loops, awaiting user commands. But even that consumes energy, which is transformed into heat.
