i can only hope the news is not that bad.
I would highly doubt that Boxee would know any faster than a consumer (or Engadget / another tech site and or blog.)

Side note - who has installed the beta?!?!

I have! Everything stated as fixed in the release notes is working for me. No idea on live tv fixes though as I don't have the dongle. SMB performance still crippled for high bitrate stuff but that was not a mentioned fix so... Here's to hoping some more serious bugs start getting worked on now.

Got the kids to bed and got it upgraded.

So I went to test a google+ link and what happens? I get that google accounts cookie settings message and have to clear my cookies and cache and had to put all my passwords back in AGAIN.

Anyway, the link worked and I am now watching the Drunken History of Superman’s Death and Resurrection.

I did notice that you still can't comment on facebook or search reddit though

Yes, with a two year old lappy, hoping Apple will release a new model soon once Ivy Bridge is out.

    Works fine here.

OK, the thumbs are bigger. I don't wanna be a complainer, but the TV Shows UI became a bit ugly now. I think that a better solution is to split the screen: put the episode list on the left, and the thumbs and description on the right side (as the older TV show UI, by the way).
Nevertheless, I'd like to thank you for listening to the community.

Just keeping you posted on the flash ...

Unfortunately due to the technical differences between Flash on a computer and Flash on a set top box, currently we do not have a quick way to upgrade Flash. Adobe does not support Flash 10.3 (the latest version) on connected devices like the Boxee Box. We are waiting to get a version and commence work - no timeline for that yet.

As soon as we have one, I will make it known.

    Thanks for your patience.

i'd love to hear something from boxee on flash update progress.
Boxee does not develop Flash. Intel is the licensee (and actually working with other 3rd party on porting Flash to their platforms and certifying it). The only thing we are doing is push Intel for updates and bug fixes. At this point, due to the situation with Adobe Flash for TV, there is no clear roadmap for updating to a newer version. This is why you see this "no comment". We don't have good news and we don't have bad news. I would love to have newer version of Flash as much as you guys would, but it is completely out of our hands. If there is any update we will let you know. At this point it's clear that Flash for video is dying and that Internet videos will be based on HTML 5 (either standard or other, more secure means where DRM is required). We are in a transition period, that's why it's so frustrating.

For sure! Because of this that I do not complain about the Flash updates. In the end, Steve Jobs was right concerning Adobe: Flash is not a good choise for devices than not PC.

Side note - who has installed the beta?!?!
I'm going to install it tonight, but I expect it will be a shortlived visitor in my box, since its bugfix list does not mention the manual episode identification bug.

(You can check it out and vote for a fix via this link)

And until that bug is fixed I'll have to stay with 1.5.0.23615, which doesn't have that bug. So the install of this beta is just to make a few tests, including the verification that the bug mentioned above still remains, like I'm sure it does (since no attempt has been made to fix it yet).

    Best regards: Ronald

Ditto. Got fed up with waiting for it to be fixed since it prob wont come till after the hd audio dropouts fix in spring. I am guessing by summer if ever.

Hopefully the HD audio dropout issue will still be fixed in early Spring.
