I have not run across this issue from any of my boxes. I've accessed the content right after it boots up(which is typical for me) and also after its been on for as many as 12 hours.
    Boxee Box 1, 2 & 3(Boxee+ v1.4.6), PCs(v1.5.0.23596) Boxee TV(v2.1.0.7781)

I think if you follow the steps to reproduce he lists on the Jira ticket, you should be able to replicate the crash.

If anybody else can confirm the steps to reproduce, I will go ahead and add my vote to it. Just want to be sure it's not an isolated issue. Given that using an M3U file is the only convenient way to play a playlist of audio files, this could be a very irritating little bug for many audio users.

The easy workaround is, of course, not to use M3U files. But I can see the user's frustration at this one. It should be a trivial fix for the devs.

A better workaround is probably using Bartsidee's music app. I have not used it myself, been meaning to add his repository. But word is that it's pretty good, and better than the standard Boxee interface for audio playback.

If this is a genuine reproducible crash bug, I cannot think of a software dev house that would not classify such bugs as critical and address immediately with a hotfix.
Vote for crash bugs to get them looked at sooner? You gotta be kidding me!
What kind of operation are these people running?

The crux of this bug is that it needs to be reproducible by the developers otherwise fixing it would be fairly difficult.

I agree with rridgeway that if it is reproducible, it should be given the highest priority. Crash bugs are not good.

I missed the m3u file being a playlist file. I was thinking MP3.

Also, playlists (.m3u, .pls) are the only way to play streaming audio files, as far as I'm aware.

The .m3u attached to the Jira bug report is for a streaming internet radio service. I haven't confirmed if this bug applies to local media files.

Your votes and help nailing down this bug are appreciated!
