    Agreed as well.
Maybe the next version of the remote could include dedicated volume controls on the front.

There could be an option of what you want up and down to do on live tv. Also, pressing the middle button should bring up a menu there should be a spot you could go to where you can then adjust volume.

I haven't used live tv yet so not sure how the buttons are mapped but think its especially stupid to not have live tv volume control as like others have said it makes boxee live tv not truly an all in one solution. Anytime a loud commerical comes on you would have to fumble for the tv remote.

Without this I'm really not sure about getting live tv.

Good point, I've seen other apps (mostly music ones if I recall) that provide this kind of on-screen volume control.

I just got my Live TV today So far I like it.

I think the button mappings need to be tweaked. Good first release, but if there is going to be any DVR functionality (even something simple like pause, ff, rw only) I think there needs to be some changes. I might sit down and figure out something to suggest once I get time to play with it some more.

I would expect those to work exactly the same as they do now for local video playback.

I was annoyed that I couldn't change the volume in Live TV. Then I borrowd a Logitech diNovo keyboard from a friend. Not only does it work with the Boxee Box, but it was also able to change the volume in Live TV. So I figured that if the diNovo could, then there might be a key sequence for the Boxee remote. Well, here it is...

    ALT X lowers the volume
    ALT Space raises the volume

Although it is not quite ergonometric, it is better than a kick in the pants!

IMO, the only solution is to retire the original Boxee remote to a deep dark closet somewhere - it's useless. Then use a nice universal IR remote to control your WHOLE system, including volume which is directed to your audio device, whether it be a tV or sound system. Boxee should always be locked at 100% volume like a typical source component (like a DVD player for example).
Manta TR1 IR Receiver for Boxee and HTPC - Use your Universal Remote with Boxee Box or XBMC HTPC, including Raspberry Pi
Also for Windows, Linux & Mac OS X: Windows Media Center, SageTV, JRiver Media Center, MediaPortal, XBMC, Plex, MythTV, etc.
