Default mine does not work any more as well...

It worked for a few days... now, it will only scan 4 of 12 channels and gives no picture on any of the channels it finds. Reset the Boxee and got the same result. My antenna (a home built mounted in my attic) picks up 12 channels reliably on my Samsung LCD... as of now Live TV only finds 4 and displays none. With the included antenna, it would find 3-4 at first and now nothing. It also was very hot while connected. I put a ticket in to support... wait to see what happens... This thing is a great idea, but I think there are issues that are not the users fault... could be hardware? OTA is my only option as being in Canada (and in a cable zone controlled by the big "R") there are no unencrypted channels included with any level of cable that are HD .... you need a cable box for local that you can get with a coat hanger) ... Hopefully the US situation stays as it is... good luck to you guys south of the border keeping this unencrypted... too late for us.

I live in Metro Detroit and pay for Wide Open West internet.

About a month ago, WOW did some network maintenance which required me to rescan because none of the local channels were coming in. They were just black.

After the rescan, everything was fine.

A couple night ago, around 6PM ET, all of the channels would go black for about a minute, then come back on for about a minute. When they would go black, sometimes the "weak/no signal" icon would appear for about a second.

I rescanned but that didn't work. The same thing was happening.

I decided to plug the cable directly into my TV and rescan on the TV.

All of the channels are working find with the cable connected directly to the TV.

I think mine is faulty as well.

In case anyone has this issue, I am currently going through the return process. It has involved an email to boxee support, and email to hauppauge and paying the shipping back to NY. I tried to find out what the issue is, but no one will give me an answer... just that a new device should fix the issue. I was / am interested in knowing if this is going to happen again; they figure that it should not happen again... I am really looking forward to this device.

The process has been great [except for the wait for the new unit- I tested device, then installed antenna, then device was pooched by the time antenna was installed was ready to go ]

The return process is fairly smooth... don't hesitate to contact them if you think the device is malfunctioning.

    i'm gonna revive this thread...

oddly enough that i'm experiencing what the OP has been seeing...i have the latest firmware....working fine for two days...getting good signal in the beginning then today getting black screen..when tryingto exit, it gets stuck and a rebbot is required....i will not rescan as it showed a bad result whn i did it the first time around...i think i'm having issues with my usb port closest to the center as i was not seeing power to the dongle a few times when i glanced at it...

i hate to say i'm getting frustrated but i'm getting frustrated...the tuner proves to me that it was better than my tv's tuner so i need this...

MIne will do the same every-so-often. I don't typically leave the BB turned on 24/7 though, so I just work around it with a reboot.

i turn mine off every night as well...i tried it again this morning and still getting the same result...

was watching a show for about 2 minutes then it freezes...pressing any button on the remote won't do anything...only thing i can do is press the on/off button on the box itself...i normally just press it once and wait for it to turn off rather than press and holding the button till it turns off...

    Update:

I have been in contact with Marcel for a couple of months now and he has been very helpful. After all sorts of troubleshooting via email, he arranged RMA for 2nd time unfortunately 3rd dongle still having exact same issue. He concluded issue is combination of tuner, cable and boxee box or in other word no fix for this issue.
After wasting time and money (for sending tuner back) I have given up hope that Live TV will work on my boxee box. I sadly requested Marcel RMA for refund.

    That's too bad.

Bad combos of hardware do happen and aren't always fixed. I've lived with an issue between my TV and set-top box (regarding an SD override setting) because of some stupid HDMI handshaking issue between the two. It sucks and it's been there since day one (5 years now) and won't ever be fixed.

    Another update:

Since I am not satisfied with boxee support solution, I bought refurbish boxee box from amazon. It has revision A4 (not sure if it is matter), now BB live TV is working flawless, no more freezes and weak signal issue.
If you are having same issue like me and your BB still under warranty, you know what you need to do
