    Default Boxee Live issue

I was very excited when I received my boxee live dongle.
Installed and connected using cable (included antenna couldn't find any channel), scanned (looong time) and found bunch of channels.

    Now the issues:

    1. There is no data on TV guide. Zip 07024, provider Time Warner

    2. When browsing channels suddenly weak or no signal screen appears and BB freeze and has to be rebooted.

    3. When browsing channels, out of sudden BB freeze on random channel. BB has to be rebooted.

    4. Every time exiting Live mode, BB freezes and has to be rebooted.

    Are these known issue?
    Anyone having same issues?

This is not normal at all.

Minimally, try a complete factory restore (you will need to set up your Box from scratch) and let it upgrade to v1.5 again. And/or contact official Boxee support (first link below).

    Thanks for you quick reply.
I think I found the source of the issues.
I was using usb extender when I am experiencing above issues. After removing usb extender, my BB stop freezing but another issue arise. When I tried re-scanning without extender, BB couldn't find any channel. This is really strange.
Now I am re-scanning with extender installed and will remove it once its done. I will keep this thread updated.

    Another update:

Live TV is now randomly freezes and showing weak signal and stuck on that screen, the only way to get our from the screen is by rebooting it.
I have been having so many issue with Live TV. Is there any update coming out to resolve live tv issues?

I haven't done factory reset. I might do it soon.
I did not contact support since I don't think this is hardware issue.
Will see after factory reset, hopes that will fix the issue.

If it's a software issue, you definitely want to contact Boxee support -- they develop the software (see first link below).

    Email sent:

The device I received is malfunctioning. It fails to find any channels, while the same antenna plugged directly into a different source at the exact same location is finding 16 channels. The device found channels when first used, but eventually lost signal on all of them. In addition, the device is quite clearly overheating, and takes an excessive amount of time to perform the channel scan. I have tried the device with and without the USB extender and with multiple known-working antennas. I have performed a master reset on my boxee unit, and have installed that latest firmware version. Regardless of the steps I take, the unit consistently now shows no channels found after a 15 minute search. It is clear to me the hardware has failed. How do I return this device either for a replacement unit or refund?

I know it's the unit. I'm very, sorely disappointed after having waited all this time. I'm so bummed right now....

Thank you Marcel for your response. I'm using Antenna, but for the sake of saying I tried everything attempted the scan on both cable and air. My boxee username is jamchavez, and my zip code is 87112. When I first plugged the device in, it scanned and found like 16 channels. It worked for about 10, maybe 15 minutes then went to "no signal". That's when I went through all the previous steps.

I have no other problems with my Boxee unit, and I love the thing to death. i was really hoping this would be a good solution for me, as the only TV i care to watch is OTA anyway.

I hope you can help me.

    Thanks,
    James
