Flickr help?

Hi everyone. I am new. I have a question about accessing Flickr. If I search by tag, I can find my Flickr photos, but if I search for my own user name and try to add myself as a contact, it says not found.....


Any thoughts?

I'm having the same issue. In fact, I've never gotten Flickr to work in any of the builds I've tried it on.

There's nothing in the Wiki that explains how Flickr user names are supposed to be formatted. (actually nothing at all about photos )

I've tried:
'atanguay'
'http://www.flickr.com/photos/atanguay/'
'http://www.flickr.com/people/atanguay/'
'N45555274@N00'

Pretty much every variant of a Flickr ID I could think of...but I get nothing. Also, this dialog box doesn't wordwrap properly, so if you have a long URL, you miss part of the message.

I think we need somebody to shed a little light on how the Flickr plugin is supposed to function.

You should be able to just add your flickr account..please try again and send me your debug logs

So, basically, to get a new user into Flickr you use the user's current display name? That seems strange since the ID that you choose that gets set in your URL and this Flickr ID format... N45555274@N00 cannot be changed.

I can go in and change my display name at any time, breaking this method.

I figured out my issue - apparently, my Flickr account was set to not show up in any public searches, due to some conversion protocols that Flickr follows for people with old accounts.

I changed that setting and voila! My pics show up!


Now I do wonder though - I can look at "favorites" (it is empty) or "recent" (about 20 photos). Is there a way I can view by tags, or view the whole collection?
