Boxee Box Black Screen W/Audio

Wife recently picked up a Boxee Box. Initially we were able to run some shows out to our tv using the supplied hdmi cable. Nothing has changed as far as we can tell but now we get the episodes starting in their small youtube-esk screen and when it attempts to go to full screen i get a black screen with audio. This does not happen with my video library I have on my external drive.

This is my initial dip into this market as an alternative to Rogers cable. It is not a good start and casts doubt upon my choice.

I would have expected a smoother launch than the one I am currently having. Some help resolving these issues will undoubtedly determine if i keep said box or return it. fyi it has been less than a week.

Can you be more specific? Which shows are you trying? And I'm assuming you mean shows from the web?

doesn't seem to matter what group of shows i choose. eg top gear, how its made etc. they all end with the same results.

I would assume they are web based from boxee.

Sorry, I can't even find those shows via Boxee Are you in the US or Canada? How are you navigating to those shows, via Channels or some other way. If Channels, which one?

I did play several other shows (How I Met Your Mother [Lifetime], Hawaii Five-0 [CBS] via Xfinity Channel) without any problems going fullscreen manually.

Canadian. I go through the shows icon and then the list and select a show. I then have the choice of selecting what episode.

Maybe someone from Canada can help you out -- though just before you hit play (and after you select an episode), the window displays where the show is coming from (e.g. city.tv, etc).
