Default Shutdown hangs - Now boxee box wont start

In the menu I did a shutdown and it hanged.
I cycled the power and now the box wont start.
There is no logo, no animation, the logo turns solid green and screen shows
    black and thats it.

    UPDATE:
I held the power button for 6 seconds,
the logo turned on yellow, but still a black screen. No recovery menu or anything else.

    UPDATE 2:
I held the power button for 20 seconds,
the logo now flashes 3 times red 1 green. Screen is still black.

    I feel like crying.

I had this happen to me, your firmware is corrupted and recovery is not possible.
(Because you will not be able to get the Recovery MENU to boot.)
Send the box to DLink.(save time)
This will happen if power is interrupted to the box, usually during a firmware update.
    (Automatic or otherwise)
Its a sad day in boxee land. :^(
Try this anyways, You should press and hold the button on the box for 8 seconds exactly.
Under 6 is too little and over 10 is to long.

hmmm, this is a worry. One of my boxes has started hanging during shutdown too but so far it's been fine after I've recycled the power. Fingers crossed you find an answer and I don't get the same problem as you.

Mine hung last year quite a few times so i restored it at that point..not ideal as you have to re-setup and scan but better than the hassle of sending it off to DLink.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but for anyone experiencing a similar issue, I would do that.
