    Default Howto Simplify Boxee

I'm looking at boxee as a front-end for tvshows and movies, as well as pandora and netflix. I've used 1.2 on the box, and am playing with the 1.5 beta for PC.

I want to provide a good media library/player for content that I already have, with metadata (show info, actors, cover art etc).

However, Boxee will present content we don't want, or can't reach.
For example .. I'll never use Vudu or AOL HD ,.. or most of the other channels.

How do I tell Boxee not to offer them. ?

You can't. Think of the included repository akin to the iTunes app store -- you can choose what you want to download/use but you can't actually delete anything.

What you can do is set it up so that when you click on Apps on the main screen, it goes directly to the Favorite Apps screen -- and you do have full control over what shows up there.

See Settings>>General>>Menu for the setting that controls what shows when you select Apps.

Thanks Darci, but it's not just Apps.. That I can handle.

Shows and Movies are where it's more important.

I don't want it suggesting Movies on Vudu or AOL for example.
In fact ... I would prefer all online movies to be excluded by default, and I can opt-in to the sites I want.

I also would like to disable all of the 'TV' channels I dont wan't.
For example .. TV3play and other sites are not available for me.
And if Fox has broken Flash .. I want to be able to 'turn off' the Fox site.

Also ..Can you confirm 1.5 will automatically set a browser based/scraped site like the "WB" or CTV to Full screen.
I'm using the 1.5 beta on win7 and they only play in the browser window.
Some open up such that the 'full screen' icon is below / off the screen.
Others I can manually click .. but then it hangs Boxee
I have to manually click the full-screen .. and it seldom / works ...

Oh, that Sorry. Fixable too. When you're on the Movies or TV Shows screen, navigate to the icon in the upper right that has something like four dots. That will list what sources will show up as playback options.

Not sure about turning off channels unfortunately...I don't think that's possible.

I'm afraid that manual full-screen is here to stay -- full screen wasn't always possible to do it automatically so it was removed it all together.

Automatically? No. Like I said, that functionality was removed (in v1.2 I think) and isn't likely to return.
