Dear Boxee moderators, any news on when the SlingPlayer will appear again on the Iomega TV?

You'd probably have to ask Iomega and/or Slingplayer. Also, mods don't have any special inside info on release dates and Boxee employees typically doesn't announce them publicly.

You could try contact Boxee official support and see if they have an answer for you (see the first link below).

    Thanks
I did actually contact D-Link in Norway. They evidently contacted some english-speaking support, probably in the US. The reply I got from D-Link, was that SlingPlayer for Boxee was available all over the world (which is wrong).

Then I contacted SlingMedia. They replied that the the SlingPlayer for Boxee was rolled out for users in the UK, now, then the rest of Europe will follow in 3-4 months. His guess was April.

My next step will be to use the VPN setup in Boxee, and try to see if I can access the US-applications, if I set the Boxee up with a VPN with a US-address.

I'll suggest you to go for Unblock-Us service , which is faster & more reliable as compared to VPN. This service uses DNS redirect which won't eat up ISP bandwidth and this is a Canadian company

I solved my missing SlingPlayer app the expensive way by buying a D-Link boxee. You would think that since they both run the Boxee software that they would have the same functionality. This is not the case. The Iomega TV with Boxee is not as up to date as the D-Link box. On the Iomega TV, there are several apps which are missing, the most notable ones being SlingPlayer and Spotify. These two apps are available on the D-Link box. My Boxee boxes are both located in Switzerland. In summary:

    SlingPlayer: D-Link (Yes), Iomega (No)
    Spotify: D-Link (Yes), Iomega (No)

I'm surprised that nobody brings up the fact that we need to update the Boxee firmware to get the slingbox app. First of all, I thought the boxxee box was supposed to inform us about available updates, but secondly it is very strange that nobody, in D-Link or SlingMedia, suggest to us that the firmware needs to be updated...

I am very confused about the availability of the SlingPlayer app for the Iomega TV with Boxee.

I finally got an answer from Sling Media on their Facebook page:
    https://www.facebook.com/SlingboxUS/...t=feed_comment

Sling Media says that the problem is not with them but with Iomega. I contacted Iomega and they say that the problem is with Sling Media. Sling Media then says that the problem is with Boxee.

This is not a complicated question. Can anybody at Boxee shed any light on this?
