    Default Can't sign into YouTube

I have a boxee box, firmware update on 24 Oct 2011.

I used to be able to sign into my YT account through the app and through the boxee browser.

I am no longer able to do so since the October update.

Why is that? How can we fix it?

Would an indie developer be legally allowed to create a YT boxee app that works in full?

Or are developers bound to develop crippled versions of YT when using its API?

The current YT app is almost useless. It only allows you to search for videos individually, and does not allow access to your playlists, favs, or watch later videos.

Is there an alternative YT app in the boxee repositories?

I get the impression that boxee box updates make the box worse every time. The box takes longer to boot, and stuff that used to work don't.

Similarly, the YT app in the Mac X OS is also crippled with no access to your playlists.

I'm having the same issue. I can't sign into YouTube via the app, using the youtube website or youtube xl for TV.

Very frustrating considering that this is about the only app I'm able to get any video content on reliably.

Youtube app is just a link to youtube.com/leanback ,so its being developed by Google not Boxee So what happens when you go to youtube.com login/sign in page?

Please clear the cache & Adobe Flash Content Data under Settings > System > Advanced and then reboot BB. I hope that will do !!

I'm actually having this problem on the Boxee software on my PC (1.5.0.23267-f830a32). I don't have those options for clearing Adobe Flash Content Data. The only options available for caches in this version are as follows:

    Settings>System>Advanced
Clear media information from the library (Media files will remain intact)...
Clear old thumbnails (media files will remain intact)...
    Debug Level
    Start Boxee on login

    Settings>System>Browser
    Clear Cookies...
    Clear cache...

I just tried signing into YouTube using an actual Boxee Box running Build 1.2.2 20482-64560cd and it works fine. When I use the YouTube App and attempt to sign in it takes me to a Google sign in web page where I can then login using my gmail account.

I never get taken to this login site using the latest Boxee software.

Lightbulb Login into youtube on boxee

When I try to go to my youtube in the youtube app for boxee it asks me to go to www.youtube.com/device and type in the code that is displayed in the same popup in the youtube boxee app. However, the link www.youtube.com/device doesn't really work - or rather it just takes you to some dude's channel

But if you instead go to www.youtube.com/activate it works and it lets you type in the code so the device can access your google account.

When I got back to my tv I was already signed into youtube on the app and I could access my "watch it later" videos which is what I was looking to do
