Default Boxee for Mac 1.5 crashing when I launch iPhone Boxee Remote App

New to Boxee, but every time I try to open my app on my iPhone to remote control the interface the Mac app crashes and will not run unless I close the iPhone app entirely. Any suggestions?

Also, how do I get access to the NetFlix app in the Boxee interface?

Per the announcement post and blog post, Netflix, Vudu, and Pandora (and UK's iPlayer) apps will not be available in the desktop version.

As a platform, we have been able to bring Boxee for Computers to about 85% of the Boxee Box in terms of features and functionality. Due to extensive DRM and certification requirements premium apps will not be available on the downloadable version of Boxee, most notably Netflix, VUDU, and Pandora (click here for a full list).

I have the same Issue here.

    I use a ipod touch 4G.

I tried the following but no luck:

    1. change the port.
    2. change the Default name to simple name.

    Is this a known bug?

Confirmed here, the Boxee iPhone remote, after making contact with the Boxee app, causes the Mac Boxee App to crash.

My version: 1.5.0.23267. (double-checked Mac's firewall, also tried port 8081, tried entering manual server info into the iPhone app, tried requiring Boxee remote password...nothing seems to make a difference.

I'm NOT new or Junior to Boxee, the iPhone or the technology. Hope a fix comes quickly!

    Confirmation.

Same crashing happening with my SGS2-(gingerbread) and my ASUS transformer-(Honeycomb). Both are using the Doug Melton Boxee remote.

Computer is running Lion with Boxee 1.5

Been waiting anxiously for this update for ages. But without a remote...Kinda can't use boxee.

Default Same problem, can't use Boxee till a fix is released

Just to confirm the same problem. I have an iPhone 4S running 5.0.1 and a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard. Whenever I try to connect from the iPhone using the Boxee app, the program running on my MacBook Pro immediately crashes.

I am running the latest version of Boxee 1.5 for Mac. In case it helps to pinpoint more exactly which version/build I have, the file I downloaded yesterday has the filename: boxee-1.5.0.23596-2bcda77

I also tried other iPhone apps that are supposed to work with Boxee but same thing, the program immediately crashes.

Boxee needs more software testers to find bugs like this before release. The functionality to operate Boxee from the iPhone is fundamental. Without that, I'm back to using XBMC, but still looking forward to an update/fix from Boxee.
