Hmmm.... OK, that means do the normal frontrow login stuff then type in "issue" and return then the sudo line?

    Hey Nigel...

I finally brought the ATV back down to work on it today. Managed to get it opening without crashing by typing in the sudo line in your last post but it would not accept the word "issue" so I just went with:

    sudo rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/BOXEE

So now Boxee opens without crashing, but I can't seem to get it to look at the media drive I've been using forever. I go to Settings/Local Files where it starts with "Devices" and then about four stops down, theres a folder icon with a XX in a box next to it where it looks like this:

    XX__MSBROWSE__X/Media-1 (Samba)

Thats the drive I want to scan, but when I select it, I get an error saying Operation Timed Out. Am I missing something here in the sequence? When I go to the My Movies screen a window on the right says Boxee is scanning the Movies Folder on my computer and it might take a while until they appear. So does that mean if I went to manage sources I would or would not see that Media-1 drive? No way to tell if its really scanning the drive is there?

I would remove the share from within boxee and start over rescanning etc.

I can't find any means to remove a share. When I go to Settings/Local Files my only option is to "Rescan Sources" and there's a list of every drive of every computer on my home network... and only one (1) drive has movies on it, and every time I select it I get an Error Message saying it timed out.

Should I go into terminal and ssh to remove user data for Boxee somehow? I did go to System/Settings/Advanced and cleared media information and thumbnails but I wasn't seeing those anyway.

I know if I re-do the ATV with the patchstick I will lose Boxee because its no longer available right?

You will lose boxee, but can manually install it via cyberduck. I was thinking you should simply re setup the share. If you having issues doing this, I think it might be time to hang up your boots with boxee.

Yeah... I can't seem to add the share so I think something is screwed up. I may have to just re-do the ATV from scratch one more time and do a clean install of XMBC and Eden. I need something that works reliably. BTW... have you had any issues with Eden locking up after 20 minutes of a movie? I'm getting that plus awful audio sync... and these are on movies that have been on the HDD for a while and have played flawlessly on both Boxee and XMBC/Dharma. Plus there's no way to adjust audio/video sync on the fly in Eden... right?

Boxee was sooooo good for so long. Don't know if I have the smarts to do a manual install.

I have had a few issues with Eden, it doesnt lock up for me, but sometimes when I exit, I lose frontrow. I would try beta three (use the latest), or stick with Dharma ! Dharma works great, especially if your just using local content.

I think you can manage the boxee manual install.
