You could add Zinc.TV at http://www.zinc.tv/browse/ to the list. There are undoubtedly others out there as well.

The "fall update" was always for the computer platform only, not the next Boxee Box firmware release.

Correct but has nothing to do with your previous comment:

    Default Thx

Thank you Boxee staff for releasing this update. I am happy and sad to learn this is the last update we can expect for Boxee on HTPC computers.

I stumbled on Boxee while researching a way to replace my XBMC on original Xbox for something to play HD. Being so impressed by Boxee, I then bought a first gen AppleTV to Run Boxee Alpha on and have never look back. I have since gone thru many different HTPC's, but always ran Boxee on each of them. I have 4 devices in my house currently all running Boxee and tell all my friends HTPC's are the way of the future. I was able to cut my cable and live off streaming/downloading content because of Boxee. I have found some amazing random things searching the podcasts that i know i would never of found if it wasn't for your program.

I am happy this is the last release because it also releases me from always checking this website, hoping for an update to fix some bug i run into. I am glad to know that this is it and i don't have to research possible fixes and hope for an update to resolve something. Knowing there is no future makes it easier to leave and move on. I will now attempt to go back to XBMC and see how it works for me. It seems the best choice of the alternatives. Thank you for mercy killing this abandoned animal.

Boxee Beta 0.9 was a beta so I forgave it for its many issues., but gotta say 1.5 is ever worse. I'm sticking with good old XBMC. 1.5 comes with screen lock ups, slow loading, and blue screens of death (Even got a blue screen of death upon uninstalling Boxee 1.5, that's pretty bad.). Where as XBMC 11.0 Eden Beta 1 runs like a dream with no issues at all. I was really rooting for Team Boxee, cause I do like there gui format, but they fail so hard in so many aother areas. Other than the gui, I did like the remote mouse control in browser mode. Team Boxee comes up with some really good ideas, but they fail on execution. I'm tired of waiting for Boxee to be a good product, so I'm not even gonna look back. Maybe some day when they got there Box running smoothly, I might buy the Box. Until then I'm stick with my XBMC/WMC combo. I use XBMC for addons for online video streaming and I use WMC for my TV tuner card and Netflix.

After I submit this post, I'm deleting my Boxee account. So complain at me all you want I won't be reading it. Goodbye.

So here's how my day has been so far. I've been using Boxee for years and have always loved it and recommended it to my friends. As many others, I've been waiting for an update, but I've never really had any major issues with Boxee. Just for fun, I decided to play around with XMBC this morning. I tried it out this morning and decided it wasn't really for me. It didn't look and feel like Boxee.

So I was very exited to see the update had finally arrived! I was also sad it would be last one, but I figured it would be all I needed for the next year or so. No worries. But then i tried it...

OMG. I have so many conflicting emotions right now. I feel happy and exited but also sad and frustrated at the same time.

With the 1.5 update Boxee no longer feels the same to me. It seems slower, the wellknown keyboard shortcuts no longer work (e.g. H, S, spacebar, backbutton) and everytime I try to go back to the Home screen I get the damn search popup, I hate the way Youtube videos now plays in the BoxeeBrowser and takes forever to load and exit, and I'm frustrated the aspect ratio on my tv shows is no longer fullscreen.

I get that the 1.5 update has probably been developed with the Boxee Remote in mind, but using it on a HTPC with a Logitech DiNovo Mini keyboard is not a pleasant experience.

Nonetheless I'm gonna give a try and see if it grows on me. Otherwise I'm either going back to the previous version of Boxee or the new beta of XMBC.
