Its little better on the pc.

Browser still behaves the same and on the box which means crashing freezing.

Scanning and over all response at times still slow and this is on a massively powerful pc.

    Quite disappointing but not unsurprising.

New UI is nice but what good does it do us if it crashes and freezes.

I opened the web once and it froze on the first page..lol

Hmm just crashed manually identifying a movie.

Ohh and for those that asked the boxee box firmware is open source but forget about any meaningful hacks.
The root filesystem is mounted as read-only on the box effectively blocking any real changes.

bxplayer is the Flash component and almost certainly is owned by a 3rd party (Likely Adobe). Its incredibly unlikely it will ever be opened sourced and certainly Boxee do not have it within their power to do this as they don't own it.

I had success building Boxee up to 1.1 on PC grafting the older flash players in, but beyond that it became too different to get working. I'm hoping (Assuming Boxee continue to release the source and that they don't just rip the PC stuff out) that this method should work for at least a few future versions as well.

GUTTED - WHY TAKE OUT AIRPLAY SUPPORT FROM THE PC VERSION!?!??!?!

SOOOOOOOOOO GUTTED. You could have directed users to install the bonjour print service if they have never installed any apple software on the pc, then used this for airplay discovery.

    GUTTED.

bloody hell, apparently you have decided that HTPC's are now not powerful enough to play media in the background whilst navigating the menu, or scan in the background whilst playing media.

and files which used to play fine on boxee 0.9.23. have NO AUDIO now.

    this is crazy!!

and now the space bar doesnt pause the video.

DO NOT WANT. Have uninstalled and put 0.9 back on. The only thing that was better on 1.5 was a rotten tomatos rating!

    Err.....?
