    Talking Boxee Box and Netflix button Red Screen of Death.

    Hello, I have a new boxee box which came with the netflix button on the remote. When i turn my boxee on and the boxee boots up i get a red screen which comes on for a few seconds and then turn off durring the loading process. It seems that when using the remote I mistakenly will hit the netfilx button and the screen goes to solid red. All i see is bright red and i can do nothing but reboot manually. I am using a 1x5 output HDMI switch and have experience this problem on every port and have never had this happen on any other device such as my Satelite reciever, DVD player or Western digital media player. Is this a problem that anyone else is familiar with or encountered. I wish they didn't have this netfilx button cause this only happens when i hit it. Thank you

    I've not heard of this problem before. Please try to do a direct connection b/w BoxeeBox to TV !! If the same thing happens after direct connection, please open a support ticket on support.boxee.tv and also email to marcel@boxee.tv describing the problem

    I just got the same thing last night. Everything else works fine, just Netflix. When the app gets installed the screen goes all red and then I can exit out of the all or just do a manual reboot.

    Gonna try maybe a reset on all settings on the boxee and see if that works. Anyone else experiencing this?
    Reload69 any fix yet?

    No not yet. It's a pain. I have notice other glitches as well with the software but the red screen is the worst. I'm thinking to return it and see if this happens with an exchange since it's under 30 day return policy.

    Default Working

    Well after last night's red screen issue I decided to try it again this morning and (so far) everything's fine. No red screen on Netflix or at boot up. I don't know how long it'll last but it seems to have stopped for now. I was gonna try to reset to factory settings when I turned it on this morning but after everything's working I didn't have to.

    All I can think of is that last night I cleared out all the Netflix data in the settings. Maybe that helped ....I'm not sure.

    As for the Boxee Box itself, don't return it so soon, try to hang in there. This latest firmware version has been REAL bad. The previous ones were a lot better and I didn't have many problems till this one. So hopefully they'll release a new firmware that fixes a lot of these nagging issues.

    So you think this is just a software bug. I'm glad to hear i'm not the only one. Any idea when the next update will come out I'm just concerned this will still happen even if i exchange boxee's. THanks

    TeamBoxee is targeting to release next fw in January sometime according to this blog post. Keep visiting forums regularly as the new fw will release here in beta first

    I'm just wondering... are they TeamBoxee or just Boxee Team?

    I had the same exact problem. It's my hdmi switch. For some reason it doesn't like the boxee. Direct connection fixed it
