Share files from W7 PC - Help

Hi,
I would be grateful is somebody can give me some assistance and apologies if this has been said before but I can't find a solution after reading through searches.

ATV1 with Boxee. I can't get it to access my W7 PC with external drive via Samba. It's asking for a username and password but won't accept the username and password I use to log onto PC. The files are shared, what am I missing?

Could you clarify, are you trying to access the win 7 HD or the external HD attached to win 7 ? It makes a difference. Can you see the win 7 HD and access it ?

I'm trying to access an external HD attached to Win 7 PC. I can see the all Win 7 PC's on my Home Network but can't access.

Okay, you need to make sure that you enable sharing for the external HD. It considered separate from the internal HD, should have its own permission structure.
