Default Is the Boxee box for me?

I have recently been on the hunt for something to adequately replace my cable connection. So far I have tried the Wii and Roku HDS and have not been satisfied with their functions. I'm not a high-tech person, but I do have movies and TV shows on my Macbook and would like to easily be able to watch them on the TV screen, plus have Netflix available for my daughter as she likes certain kid shows that are available on there with around 100 episodes each (easier than downloading them all).
I downloaded the Boxee software and have been playing with it. I like the potential that I see: watching YouTube videos in full screen, choosing my media and playing it, but the feature I like the best is the ability to go to a network website and add a show to my queue. Does this feature perform on the Boxee box as well? If so, then I'm sold. With everything I have on my computer plus the ability to watch internet TV episodes from recently broadcast shows, I can't see any reason to keep cable.
It seems the Boxee box is too good to be true with all the mixed reviews out there? Is this thing going to do what I want it to do?

If you mean a network folder by network website then, yes you can add content to Boxeebox from your network computers / Hard Drives , and add them to watchlater queue as well

If you mean the "Watch Later" browser add-on then yes - it works just fine with the Boxee Box, but I have not had any luck getting it play nicely with Firefox running on MacOS X Lion (didn't work for me in Snow Leopard, either). I am able to using it in Firefox when I am at work (my work PC runs Windows 7).

Yes, I'm sorry. I meant "network website" as in, I go to cbs.com and choose The Big Bang Theory and add the latest episode to my "watch later" list. In the Boxee software it's labeled as "Queue."

So far it has worked on my Mac, transferring it to the Boxee software. I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 right now.

Yes there is watchlater extension/button, which works in different web browsers and by pressing that you can add content from various websites including cbs.com and it will appear in your watchlater

I have had my Boxee since they came out and at that time, I used it a lot. Now, with all the issues with firmware upgrades, I don't use it very much. I can't seem to connect to my laptop anymore and when using many of the apps, my device just hangs. I reboot this thing ten times more than my windows box and that says a lot! I haven't seen a new firmware release in a long while so until that happens, my boxee just sits on the shelf as an ornament.

This was a concern for me as well. I've heard the Boxee is "buggy" but there are fixes and workarounds if you spend some time Googling or asking around the forums. Is this true? Can most of the issues really be fixed?
I don't have a problem working with the Boxee if it really is what I'm looking for.
It seems that there are just as many happy owners of the box as there are unhappy ones.

I think there are a lot of problems with the box....I would hold off for now. It can be really frustrating when you spend a lot of time trouble shooting....

Alot of people have few or now issues with the Box. What I've told every new potential owner is to get the Boxee Box from a retail with a good return policy, try it out in your environment with your usage and then decide.

And of course, folks around here will help you out as best they can

(If you wait for the "perfect" firmware release, you'll probably never buy it )

Default it is for you. if you're willing to accept it as a part-time hobby.

There are no people on this forum who have "no issues' with the boxee box. You might be thinking the people who don't have a boxee box have no issues, right? But no, they too have the issue that they don't own the alternately euphoria-inspiring and maddening box that is boxee. I'm a Boxee fanboy but I'm willing to acknowledge some mind-boggling shortcomings.
