I have recently been on the hunt for something to adequately replace my cable connection. So far I have tried the Wii and Roku HDS and have not been satisfied with their functions. I'm not a high-tech person, but I do have movies and TV shows on my Macbook and would like to easily be able to watch them on the TV screen, plus have Netflix available for my daughter as she likes certain kid shows that are available on there with around 100 episodes each (easier than downloading them all).
I downloaded the Boxee software and have been playing with it. I like the potential that I see: watching YouTube videos in full screen, choosing my media and playing it, but the feature I like the best is the ability to go to a network website and add a show to my queue. Does this feature perform on the Boxee box as well? If so, then I'm sold. With everything I have on my computer plus the ability to watch internet TV episodes from recently broadcast shows, I can't see any reason to keep cable.
It seems the Boxee box is too good to be true with all the mixed reviews out there? Is this thing going to do what I want it to do?
