    Default My 2nd Boxee arrived, with a Netflix button instead of play/pause

    This is a massive disappointment that apparently the new Boxee's have replaced the play/pause button with a big red Netflix button. There was no update to the product description, so this is news to me. If you click it while watching a show - it immediately shuts the show down and launches the Netflix app. http://imgur.com/1bgHI

    Sending this straight back to Amazon as we speak, hoping this is someones bad idea that will be short lived...

    The button was talked about earlier this year so i guess it's in the wild now.
    That button used to be the play/pause button wasn't it? They should have just added a separate button for Netfix and kept the play pause button. A dedicated Netflix button is nice, but I use the play/ pause button alot.

    So what's in place of pause/play now? Maybe it can be reprogrammed?

    It could probably be reprogrammed, somehow.

    Do think that's a bad move though. There needs to be both a play pause, and a Netflix button. I see how they were trying to simplify Netflix launching though, but I don't think this is the right move.

    It's not the same as a dedictaed button - but you can still pause/play by clicking the 'enter' button while content is playing and then clicking the onscreen pause/play icon

    Was this implemented in the name of usability? If so, it is a total failure. I am guessing they are getting a kick-back from Netflix for the co-branding.

    yeah but its a dam remote which MUST and i mean MUSt have a play/pause button, it's stupid to think it does not have a play/pause button. Sure its nice to have a red button to launch netflix, but to do away with the play/pause button is inexcusable and just stupid. I saw this earlier this year and i thought it would double as a netflix button I.E. If in the UI it launches netflix's but if in a movie/tvshow/music it functions as a normal play/pause button.

    If i had to chose between a netflix button and the play/pause button i will no dought choose the play/pause button.

    Boxee makes its customers angry once again and this time its hardware which i and many others will not stand for. If netflix's is pushing them then use the keyboard as a hotkey or add another button to the remote.

    @Marcel wtf are you guys thinking? add another button don't take features away. What are you trying to be like Sony?

    Yes i'm angry and i have every right to be, because a few were interested in BBox for gifts and now i may have to tell them to look somewhere else unless they can find the old stock.

    i gotta admit that een that pisses me off...i dont want netflix rammed down my throat unless it was free...netflix is giving boxee a little something something here...

    perhaps if it was changeable in the options and that thing was a stcker, then i'd be fine with it...

    also i dont get about adding one other button...how much convincing did boxee or dlink gave each other not to add one more button

    @lateralex

    What revision was/is it. The last one i bought was A3 and it only had the white keyboard rather then the grayish colour.
