RSS feeds not working on Hardy

I installed boxee to my Hardy Ubuntu box. This box already runs mythtv, so I cannot definitively say what other dependencies are being met by that.
To get sound working for music playback, the libsdl1.2debian-pulseaudio package needs to be installed.

I have not gotten any of the RSS based video channels to work. Revision3, and the VideoChannels options sit forever on the screen showing the rss:// url.

Is there another package needed to support the rss feeds that is not listed as a requirement in the boxee package?

The problem was with how boxee uses the /tmp directory.
I first ran boxee under a different user account, which created a directory /tmp/boxee owned by that user. When I later tried to run it as a different user, it had no permissions on the /tmp/boxee directory and everything failed.

It would be better if it created a /tmp/<username>-boxee directory just like it does with the /tmp/<username>-xbmc.log file to allow multiple users of the machine to all run it in their own context.

After deleting the /tmp/boxee directory and restarting as the default user, I have the rss feeds once again.

Simple tip for mythtv users. I added boxee as if it were a PC game to the mythGames area and can launch it directly from the mythfrontend by selecting the boxee entry in the game menu.
