streams choppy in boxee , fine when run outside

I downloaded windows boxxee on 2 fast pc computers in canada, both had the same behavior. All internet videos ( bbtheory on ctv.ca then a movie from global) had very bad choppy (4 fps?) play. I tried both from outside of boxee (eg. went right to ctv.ca) and they played fine. I noted others have complained about this (w winxp?) but I can't find on the forums any suggested fix. I tried w/ checked and uncheck "enable hardware assistence decoding when possible". Any suggestions to fix or diagnose is appreciated. (winXP sp3, intel 6600 @2.4Ghz, 2GB Ram, gforce 8800 gts).

I noted from other forums, that several have this issue and walked away from boxee - so a posted fix would help.

You don't get hardware acceleration with XP; you might have better luck with that hardware if you can install Windows 7 and playing Flash videos inside of Boxee.

Other than that, I'm not aware of any "fix". Boxee is a resource hog, video that plays find outside of Boxee is not guarantee it will play well inside of Boxee.

There is an updated version due out this Fall which may or may not see an improvement in performance for online Flash video.
