    Default Subtitles dropping out

    I am running Ubuntu 8.04.1 kernel 2.6.24-19-generic

Since updating to the latest version of Boxee, I am having a problem where a show with subtitles will only display some of the subs. In a scene it might display every other line, or nothing at all. I can play the same video in xmbc on the same box, and it will play fine. It has happened on every subtitled file I have tried, no matter the format of the video, xvid, mkv, mp4, etc.

I also notice, that changing the settings for the subtitle color, or style seem to have no effect.

Anyone else having the type of problem? If it's just me I can try a fresh os install, but if it's not just me...

I've run into the same problem, streaming .mkv files with h.264 video and AAC audio from my OS 10.5.6 MacBook to my aTV. The subtitles I'm using are .ass and usually about every other line is missing a sub. In addition, the subtitles and video are in sync, but the audio is way off. At some points, the audio syncs up, but then 30 seconds later, it is really early.
The mkv file is 720p, if that matters.

    Default not a userdata issue

Just to check, I renamed my userdata folder, and re-setup my profile (set my login to boxee and hulu, and added my media folders, nothing else). It seems like I got about 2 minutes further in the same video, without a problem, but then it started again. I might just be misremembering how long it tool in this video though, so maybe it started immediately.

Was there ever a fix for this? Because I seem to be experiencing the same issue in the current Mac version of Boxee.

Subtitles randomly drop out throughout the video, it's a 720p MKV file with subtitles already included.

    Default Same Here

    Marcel,
I ran into the same problem as well, as of the builds before the most recent release, what would happen is as you play an MKV file, where subtitles are already included, the video will work fine for the first couple minutes then eventually just disappear. It will either randomly come back, or nothing at all. I basically have been using VLC for any MKV files with subtitles for awhile now because of the bug. I'll try later tonight and see if the most recent build has resolved the issue and let you know. Thanks for all the help you provide everyone in the forums!

P.S Just noticed this was in the Linux section, but mine happens on the builds for OSX, again I'll double check to see if it still occurs on the latest build tonight.

*Update* Yeup, issue still exists, my subtitles randomly drop out after a few mins into the video and will periodically show up.

Default same problem.. sub-titles randomly drop out on .mkv's

I have the same problem, OSX 10.5.6, most recent version of Boxee. It basically makes it useless for playing video with subtitles in the .mkv container. I have to resort to 'mplayer' which seems to still work every single time all the time where as Boxee as a player is hit or miss.
