Post Fault with 3D films being played through Boxee Box.

    Hey Boxee Team,

After months of using Boxee on my desktop PC and having flawless results, I finally decided to buy a Boxee Box for the living room to use with my new LG 55inch LW650T 3DTV.

Everything worked flawlessly but after updating the Boxee Box to the latest firmware, I have found 2 big problems that I need major help getting fixed!

First most serious problem is when I play any of my content in 3D there seems to be big black borders appearing in all of my files, even when most of my 3D movies dont have borders in the video to begin with. I have tried every setting change possible and still seem to be getting so many black borders all over the place when entered in 3D mode; I know this isn't right as none of the files actually have borders in them and they dont seem to do this when watching on PS3 or through my USB port on my television.

Also quick note when I convert my Blu-ray movies which are ripped in MKV with DTS Audio they work great except for the terrible black blurry borders along left & right side of the screen and top & bottom of the screen. I have attached a video as proof of this and hope it can help you in diagnosing the problem.

Its really annoying me that all of this is happening as I purchased the box purely for playing true 3D files and also for the purpose of playing files that I want converted into 3D as this box is the only one on the market to play files with DTS Audio. This box wasn't cheap at almost £200.00 which means that I really need to get this sorted or I will be forced to return it to the store I purchased it from for a refund.

I hope that you can help me.

I have the same exact problem with the borders on the 3d. I watched the youtube video and its exactly the same issue. Any fix or work around?

I've seen some reports that the issue with borders for 3D content can be fixed by going into the screen calibration options in Boxee and setting the overscan option to zero. Unfortunately this can also mean that you lose some details around the edge of the picture.

I have the same exact problem, I notice if I turn the overscan off this corrects the problem but all other none 3D is off the screen so I have to keep going into the menus to adjust the overscan on and off. Hope that they can sort this out shortly.

I fixed this by changing overscan to 0%, and changing the zoom mode on my TV to something like "full image".
